Greetings Gibson Community,
The Attendance Zone Advisory Commission (AZAC) is considering potential changes to school attendance boundaries. The purpose of these changes is to provide improved feeder school alignment from elementary schools to middle schools and to reassign all incoming 6th-grade students from Thurman White Middle School. As of the 2018-2019 school year, Thurman White Middle School will become a full dedicated magnet program at Thurman White Middle School. It is necessary to assign all incoming 6th-grade students to a new attendance boundary as a result of the magnet program implementation.
The attached flyers provide information regarding the proposed changes that involve the current 5th-grade students at your school. This attendance boundary change is being considered in phases, by reassigning one-grade level each year until all grades, 6-8, have been reassigned, beginning with the incoming 6th-grade students at the start of the 2018-2019 school year.
Public input is a very important part of the Clark County School District decision-making process. Parents/guardians are encouraged to attend the Public Input Meeting to provide comments. If they are unable to attend, please encourage them to mail comments to AZAC, Demographics, Zoning and GIS, 1180 Military Tribute Place, Henderson, NV 89074, or email comments to AZAC@interact.ccsd.net. For additional information, including background materials leading to these proposals, please visit azac.ccsd.net.
